Showing our support at Greece Race for the Cure®

One of the most important things in life is to band together and present a united front when it comes to an important cause. This is why bluegr Hotels & Resorts took part in Greece Race for the Cure® for the second consecutive year along with thousands of Athenians, both for the 2km walk and the 5km run. The race took place in the center of Athens on Sunday 29 September for the 11th consecutive year and was co-organized by “Alma Zois”, the Hellenic Association Of Women With Breast Cancer, and the City of Athens Cultural, Sport & Youth Organization (OPANDA). Since the first “Greece Race for the Cure®” runner crossed the finish line it has generated over 150.000 participants and is now considered one of the country’s major athletic events of a charitable nature.

This symbolic event is a tangible way to raise awareness about breast cancer, and points to exercise and a healthy lifestyle as a crucial means for its prevention. Studies have shown that the risk of breast cancer for adults can be reduced by engaging in 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity per week, as well as eating a healthy Mediterranean diet supplemented with extra-virgin olive oil.

bluegr Hotels & Resorts initiates and takes part in many other charitable endeavors year round to provide support where it is truly valued. The Group supports the community by maintaining its own blood bank as well as co-founding We Do Local, which participates in World Beach Clean-Up Day. We have also maintained Blue Flag status on all of our beaches in Crete for more than 25 years, meaning that our support and care for the environment has been one of our top priorities, and remains so to this day.

It’s easy to stay fit and healthy at Life Gallery athens by working out at our well equipped gym and enjoying delicious Mediterranean dishes prepared by our experienced chefs at Kool Life Bar Restaurant.
