Life Gallery: An Architectural Charm in Northern Suburbs of Athens
Life Gallery hotel in the northern suburbs of Athens is a place nestled among lush Cedar and Pine trees offering absolute seclusion and tranquility. Initially built in early 1970, the hotel was restored into a contemporary building in 2004, charming its guests since then. The new minimalist design was an inspiration of one Greek and two German architects, that is, Vassilis Rodatos and Klein & Haller, who gave the property a fresh look without ignoring its origin from the seventies.
The basic materials used for the hotel’s renovation were wood, glass and steel combined in ways that show off the unpretentious beauty of Life Gallery. The hotels’ impressive facade is made exclusively of glass and allows plenty of sunlight into the ample rooms, which together with the earthy tones create a pleasant and warm atmosphere for guests to relax in.
The property is surrounded by Zen gardens and also boats two discreet swimming pools for refreshing dips in the summer, or poolside drinks and coffee in the warm springtime evenings.
Indoor architecture also follows a minimalistic approach. Furnishings are made of wood and decorations include works of art made by talented Greek artists. Highlight of the hotel is the sculpture of a tall man painted totally in red, which is displayed in the Kool Life Bar. Steel is also a noticeable detail in the hotel, as well. You’ll find it either in furniture or as a decorative touch, especially when it comes to art.
